Network and connect with business owners. Rob Gerlach, WSU Ventures, will discuss intellectual property – what is it and why it matters.

ROB GERLACH is the Director of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer at Wichita State University, where he evaluates and transfers the technological innovations created by the University and its partners into the commercial marketplace through collaboration agreements, licensing negotiations, and start-up opportunities. Prior to joining Wichita State, Mr. Gerlach was an attorney at Thompson Coburn LLP and previously at Patterson + Sheridan, where he dealt heavily with intellectual property.

Mr. Gerlach received a BS, magna cum laude in Mechanical Engineering from Wichita State University in 2011. He went on to St. Louis University School of Law, where he became a registered patent agent in 2012 before obtaining his J.D., magna cum laude, with a concentration in Intellectual Property Law.

Registering for any of our meetings and events is necessary so that the appropriate amount of food can be ordered and name badges can be printed prior to the event. WIBA incurs the cost for every RSVP, so our policy is A reservation made is a reservation paid. That simply means you will be charged even if you do not attend at the last minute.

Members are encouraged to pay at the time of registration Reservations must be made and paid for by 3 p.m. the day prior to the event. For those who wish to pay at the door for a previously made reservation, you will incur an additional fee of $5 to cover staff time taking the payment and providing a receipt. We appreciate your understanding and support of this necessary policy.
