Dr. Tiffany Masson
Tiffany Masson, Psy.D., President of Kansas Health Science Center, is an exemplary leader in higher education with more than 15 years of experience leading teams to find innovative, technology-driven solutions to the concerns facing universities across the world. Dr. Masson obtained her Doctorate of Psychology from The California School of Professional Psychology in 2002 and completed her post-doctoral training at U.C. Davis’ Children’s Hospital-CAARE Center. Early in her career, she was employed as a staff psychologist by the Cook County Juvenile Court and Northwestern School of Law in Chicago.
Prior to assuming leadership of the Kansas Health Science Center (KHSC), Dr. Masson spent 13 years at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she served in a number of operational and administrative leadership roles. Her accomplishments there included launching 15 individual programs through regional accreditation, spearheading the burgeoning growth of online education, and the creation and implementation of country-specific human capacity development programs in Africa. Chief among these was a 12-day trauma training program (Global HOPE Training Initiative) that prepared teachers in Rwanda to recognize, assess, and intervene with children exhibiting signs of long-term trauma still emanating from the genocide that devastated the country in the 1980s. Through ongoing collaboration with civic organizations and local and international governments, she was able to ensure that the project successfully addressed long-unmet mental health needs in Rwanda and replicate Global HOPE’S success in Zambia and South Africa.
Dr. Masson’s proven abilities in forging partnerships and balancing the needs of multiple constituencies has served Kansas Health Science Center well. Since assuming the presidency in May 2019, she has created strong ties with civic and healthcare organizations throughout the state, secured the necessary funding, and successfully led KHSC through the processes of obtaining regulatory approvals and pre-accreditation by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA).
