Scott Redler is a restaurant industry veteran with 45 years of experience as franchisor, owner, and operator. Redler is Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of the Kansas-based fast-casual restaurant concept Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers. In 2002, Redler launched Freddy’s along with his business partners Bill and Randy Simon. After franchising in 2004, Freddy’s has grown to over 400 locations serving 32 states across the nation.  Redler has been instrumental in the development of over 20 different concepts over his 45 years in the hospitality industry ranging from five-star dining to business and institutional dining.

Redler is a recipient of many honors including the Silver Plate, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist, Kansas Restaurateur of the Year, Fran Jabara Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame, Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame, University of Missouri Tornado Alley Distinguished Alumni, Wichita Business Journal 40 under 40 Inaugural Class, Wichita Business Journal Hall of Fame, and Kansas Restaurant Association Hall of Fame. 

Over the last few years, Freddy’s has been recognized for its success including No. 1 on Forbes Best Franchises to Buy, QSR Magazine’s 2019 Best Franchise Deals, Fast Casual’s 2019 Movers & Shakers top 100, Entrepreneur’s 2020 Franchise 500 top 100, Franchise Times magazine’s 2020 Fast & Serious top 40 and many other nationwide and local awards.

Community involvement is important to Redler and his wife Betsy.  Redler’s vast knowledge of all facets of restaurant operations has made him a sought-out professional in the industry. He serves on the National Restaurant Association’s Board of Directors as a board officer. Closer to home, he currently serves as a McConnell Air Force Base Honorary Commander and is active on many boards including the Kansas Restaurant and Hospitality Association (Past Chair), Sedgwick County Zoo, Butler Community College Hospitality Program, and the Kansas State Hospitality Program. Known for his philanthropy, he has served on a variety of non-profit boards and he and his wife Betsy started a scholarship fund for Hospitality students at Butler Community College.
