Network and connect with business owners. Featured speaker: Wichita Police Chief Gordon Ramsay

Gordon Ramsay was appointed as the Wichita Police Chief in January 2016. Gordon was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Scottish immigrant parents. He was hired as a police officer at the age of 20 while still attending college. Community policing and his strong drive to build trust and improve community relations are at the heart of his policing philosophy. Gordon came up through the ranks of the Duluth, Minnesota Police Department. In Duluth, he was appointed as chief in 2006 at the age of 34 and was the youngest chief in the city’s history.

As Wichita Police Department Chief he has focused on pushing officers closer to the communities they serve, building relationships, increasing the use of technology, and reducing crime. He has successfully worked with our community to create Wichita’s civilian review board and focuses on de-escalation, communication, and tactics to lower use of force incidents.
